Well to make a long story short, my 2010 Heritage was stolen about 2 weeks ago. With the insurance money i plan to pay down on a 2014 Limited here in the next couple of weeks.
i loved my Heritage, but i don't want to start over with making another one my own just yet. it's still too soon to not get pissed when i look at one. So i had decided to go test ride the SGS and the Limted to see which one i liked better.
i love the way the SGS looks. But i love the way the Limited rides. The SGS rode like $#!+ to be honest. The way that it's slammed down compared to the Limited made the 2 rides worlds different. i was surprised. i thought that a SGS was just a Limited w/o the TP and lower fairings. i was wrong.
i say again though that i love the way that the SGS looks. i thought that having the Limited would be the best of both worlds in a sense. i am buying the detach kit for the TP, installing a 21" front wheel, 18" rear wheel, Rinehart exhaust and a custom paint job in the colors that my Heritage was. it can look like a SGS, but my wife and i wanna go for long trips she's comfortable too.
i'm super excited to get to ride again. it's been sunny and 80 degrees here lately. not having my bike has been driving me nuts! im also excited to join the bagger family.
With the 21" front and 18" rear you do realize it won't ride like a stock Limited any more the ride will not be as smooth and forgiving with the shorter sidewall tires, just saying.
Yes I do realize that. Thank you though for mentioning it because it does change the way it rides. But my dealer has one that has that set up already. I am able to take it out to compare it to the stock set up.
Man that sucks. Some people work hard for their toys, Others just steal them.
Sorry to hear you had to go through that situation. Thankfully you had insurance and you are getting another ride. Hope all goes well with your purchase of your new bike.
Get a road king and ride the hell out of it instead of buying something that keeps you taking things off and on like a barbie doll. Action figure or dress up doll?
Wouldn't it be cheaper to get the SG and put a better suspension on it?
You commented a few times on your love the SG, so why not get it and improve where it needs improving. Seems like a better route than spending a bunch on an Ultra and stripping it down. Besides, to me, a stripped down Ultra looks like a stripped down Ultra, not a SG. But that's just me.
