Default clutch adjustment

I did a search but couldn't find the answer I was looking for.
Going to adjust my clutch on my 2013 street glide, I have a manual, but confused on one step. It says to pull the clutch handle three times after adjusting the allen screw. If I have so much slack in the cable what good is it going to do to pull the clutch lever three times?

it sets the ball and ramp mechanism inside the tranny end cover.

clutch cable should be 'slack" but not "loose"

the ball/ramps turns the pull on the cable motion into a push on the clutch rod motion

If the adjuster at hub is adj right (1/2 to 1 turn out after 0 play) there will be slight movement when pulling the lever. Your doing this to make sure the ball centers

so back the cable off about half way so it will have enough to set the ball/ramp.

the 1/2 to 1 turn part. where is a good setting. right at 1/2 or 3/4 or 1 complete turn. I was thinking about splitting and going 3/4

I like 5/8 great for friction zone low speed

1/2 grabs further out from bars, 5/8 is closer to bars

3/4 turn is just right for me. I like it to grab a bit closer to the bars. Easier for me to launch on a steep grade. Do it on a cold bike or those adjustment settings are meaningless.
