Dropped my bike off in the pouring rain Thursday nite to get
the Bearings and cams changed out. 2000 FLHT that did not
get done back then.
Almost 8 years and 50k miles later. Had an oppointment for
Friday now monday still not done, found out they have a preferred
customer list that takes priority over everyone else. Costing me
$1400.00 shouldn't that move me up just a tad? After all I did
have an opointment. Yea Yea Yea should have done it myself but
do not own any of the tools. Be glad when my GOOD neighbor
graduates from MMI. Just to let you know opointments dont mean
diddley.

Yeah, I've heard of this "Preferred Customer" list and it is total BS!! Just another way to scam more money off owners, sounds a tad illegal to me, and if it isn't, it should be! [:@]
Vote with your feet. Get that bike outta their shop, tell the owner why. Percs for "preferreds" are OK for some stuff... but not for someone standing in a queue waiting for their bike.
Tell him he is not YOUR prefered dealer, and you are going to take your bike, AND cash to a dealer who provides better service. He's basically calling you worthless! Don't take that crap!
Let's see....you make an appointment for a particluar day to drop your bike off and get work started....and then you get bumped for some 'preferred customer'?
As stated above, pick your bike up and let them know they will not be your 'preferred dealer' in future.
I had to bitch once at a shop where I made appointment and took bike in. I'm standing there and the young tech wants to know if I can leave the bike a few days to be worked on. I asked why and he said they were swamped with work. Now I'm standing at counter looking at his chart
where they have each tech listed and all appointments for them. I'm first appointment on a Monday and the tech bike is assigned to does not have anything else marked on chart for that day. I told him, "No, I cannot leave bike for a couple of days. I ride it to work every day and need it fixed today while I'm waiting. That's why I made a damn appointment."
BTW Saint, do you have other dealers by you? Negative word-of-mouth is something that NO dealer wants. Find out who the GM is, the Sales Manager should be able to tell you. It's getting too competitve out there for the front end of the store to not care what the back end's doing to it's future customers!
