Now that I have FL-VIED-10 installed, is it pretty wide open as to what air filter/breather I can put on? I'm not a fan of the football a/f and would like a round filter with cover or similar set up.
That is correct, you can install a free flowing air cleaner, and pipes also, if you'd like.
You can click HERE to see a wide variety of round air cleaners with different covers.
I am happy with the little bit of enriching provided by my FL-XIEDs. I have stock AC, stock Cat in pipe, and EPA stamped SE Fat Shotz mufflers so I am not trying to compensate for any major air-fuel-exhaust changes. If I was going to jump into Stage 1+ on my bike I'd have to install a tuner and have it dyno'd so I would not worry about over lean use damaging the engine. It is lean from the factory and modifying makes it even leaner without a tuner.
I bought vied & fuel moto billet ac from DK customs for my FLHT. They shipped quickly. Installed yesterday, excellent performance with simple installation. Picked up slip ons off craigslist for $40, making stage 1 for about $300.
I had the xieds on my Sporty with DK breather and S&S pipes, bike ran great. I now have the FL-Vied-10 on my street glide with ventilator A/C and Bassani 2-1 exhaust and I'm getting some decel pop. Tried them set at 50% and then at 75% it's still there! Other than the decel pop I think the bike runs good.
