Default Roadside Assistance

My question for the crew is What/Who are you guys using if anything for Roadside Assistance. Any horror stories? Any glowing reviews.

if you are a HOG member, you get "free" basic roadside.

if you upgrade for $20 that gets you UNLIMITED Mileage to nearest Dealer

UNLIMITED occurrences

Covers US and Canada ( both ways)

It is tied to Road America, the operators there were great. The first question:
"is this an emergency, anyone injured?"
second "do you feel you are in a safe location"

I was in the middle of Wyoming with a blowed tire. It took about 90 minutes for the truck with tilt bed and motorcycle wheeled dolly to arrive.
It took about 2 hours to get to dealer

cost= 0

2 days later another blow out...middle of Montana.
about an hour for truck, 2 hours to Missoula- cost =0
Since i was equidistant from a couple of dealers, they asked me which was my choice- I called and made sure they were open, had what i thought i needed in stock...and I knew that the owner of missoula was a technician.

during both waiting periods, the operators called me to check on me and to give updates on truck.

I have since upgraded to the $50 Ultra Plan, it covers all my cars and 3 bikes- I was able to drop AAA ( which in AZ does not cover bikes) and drop the roadside on my insurance so I saved $140 to spend $50. net gain $90.
I don't factor in HOG fees, I've been lifetime since 1990- it's paid for

Join HOG, upgrade the roadside assistance for $20, you are good. The basic HOG roadside is a $100 discount on towing - depending on distance to nearest dealer, could be a $400 + tow bill. The upgrade is unlimited miles to dealer at no cost. I also get 18% off my AT&T wireless for being a hog member - more than pays for the membership dues.

I do not think HOG will not pay UNLIMITED mileage? from what others have posted...only the first $100... then it is all on you.
I pay $29 per year through my GIECO/AIG coverage and they will take my bike to the nearest dealer for 100% free, or bring me up to 5 gals gas, a jump start or whatever I need....and if I am stranded they will fund a room for up to 4 days if I need major repairs. I am happy with it.....

(EDIT....JUST SAW THAT WAS THE BASIC HOG MEMBERSHIP)

I use the Brewmany Motor Club. If I need a tow I call a truck and pay them out of my own pocket. I assume in the past 40 years I'd have paid thousands of dollars in towing club membership fees, and i've not spent anywhere near that in tow truck charges. Maybe I've spent $500 in that time on expenses that a typical AAA type of program might have covered. I self insure for small risks, buy insurance for risks I can't afford. I'm way ahead of the game so far.
I guess I have a HOG membership now came with my Ultra. Not intending to buy the additional coverage.

Upgrade the HOG coverage for $20.00. It's a deal.
