Spend a little more, get the bracket cut down between 1"-3" and it will then sit on the top of the seat with no bar showing, unless you adjust it all the way up which most people don't.

In addition to adjusting back and forward, it also adjusts up and down to fit in different areas of ones back. So, if he was to cut the bracket down, he'd lose the ability to adjust. In that case, get a non-adjustable bracket. But then again, if you're sitting on it while riding, who cares what it looks like.

Most riders keep it down for lower back comfort. I cut mine down 1" and it sits flat against my seat and still has plenty of height if and when I ever use it. Just measure the distance from the bottom of the backrest pad to the top of the seat opening and cut that amount off the bracket. Or as I did, I removed the section with the holes in it that's welded to the bracket, cut 1" off the top of the bracket and re-welded the section with the holes back on. Powder coated the whole thing and reinstalled.....

Yeah, I'll play with the adjustments a little more to dial it in...

Default Harley Warranty

Feeling really cheated by HD have a 2013 RKC with 4500 miles on, just over 12 months old. Never been dropped, serviced in accordance with manufacturers schedule.
Had booked into dealer for brake judder and now have a bill for in excess of Ł700 for service and new discs.
Harley maintain discs are consumable items and not a manufacturing defect.
So much for a quality brand......

I like the idea of getting mine cut down. It works a whole lot better with a sundowner seat which I only use for trips. There is no metal showing with it.

As a former Road King owner I know what you mean about the bracket. The Electra Glide comes with a higher bucket seat and completely hides the bracket. I learned to live with it on the Road King because I liked the riders backrest that much.

Yeah, I've got it on the lowest setting and I still have 3" of bracket showing. Maybe it's my OCD, but I definitely want it covered up.

Oh for God's sake.....cut the top of a black thick sock and slide over the part that's showing....it will blend and it's a cheap fix.
:-). Your OCD will thank you.
