Default Adjustable Rider Backrest

I bought the adjustable rider backrest (HD #52596-09A) for my 13 RKC. The jury's still out on whether or not it's a good purchase; however, I'm not liking the look...

Is there a leather sleeve to cover up that ugly metal back plate that shows between the seat and the backrest?

The back rest itself should have a leather/vinyl sleeve that hides that part.

I have never seen a leather sleeve to cover it - maybe contact Capt Itch to make you one.

I will never be without my backrest - love being able to make adjustments on the go

Do yourself a couple of longer trips with the backrest and then try claiming the jury is still out. I love mine. Between the backrest and highway platforms I have it's like being tucked into a Lazyboy! I've never even seen an insert to "hide" the upright. Maybe chrome it?

Just go to a local upholstery shop and they will probably make one from some leather scraps fpr $15

Pretty sure you're thinking of the other one. This adjustable version doesn't have one that comes with it.

Good point. I only have about 300 miles with it so far. I'm taking it to Sturgis in August so the verdict will be in by then...

Interesting idea with chroming it... Hadn't thought of that.

Couldn’t live without the adj backrest. Once you get it dialed in…it will never come off..

In my opinion, it's the best upgrade for a Streetglide. I won't ride anywhere w/o it. My only problem with it is that it wiggles around. But for sake of comfort, I can live with that.
