No, I do not think a ticket should be issued for this but sure as hell wish they could for stupid questions.

I did not read all the post on this thread,i will go back and read but i wanted to say. I don't think the police will open that can of worms. If a guy drops his bike it could be from sand or a pot hole. the biker could then make the town responsible . And if any one don't think these towns think like that you are wrong.

The police will just be grateful if it's not a fatality. Lotsa over-braking for traffic lights and stopped traffic. You'd be surprised at how many receive fatal head injuries doing just that.

Another case of just 2 groups, those who have and those who will. When he becomes one of the former, he will feel adequately stupid for having asked this question.

Ok, reason for the post. I have heard, so it's just a rumor, that in Virginia, if you drop your motorcycle, you will get a ticket if LEO observe it. I know in most states they will help you pick it up without any fine.
Anyone from Virginia want to weigh in on this one?

I work in Virginia, living in Maryland, and know a lot of folks there that ride....this is the first I've heard of it. kind of silly if you ask me.
