I have had them on my ultra since new. My wife has a super glide, we put a super reduce reach seat on her bike to move her forward and down. She loved it till the back cyl got so hot, she was wearing her leathers and by the time she could feel it on her leg it took awhile to get it cooled back off. She was ssed and wanted the seat off. Straight to the HD dealer we went and installed a set in the parking lot. She has never complained about the heat since

I have HD ones on my '12 RK.... they are a must for me, and I personally think they work very well..... maybe not 100%, but I am sitting on top off / behind an air cooled motor - so yeah, it's a little hot :-) but they help a lot IMO....

Also, if you have a CAT, you gotta get rid of that thing - it gets WAY hot...

These twin cam motors, like every other air cooled reciprocating piston engine from flatheads to evos, runs hot. That being said, go lay your hand on a gold wing or other water cooled engines and see of they are too hot to touch. Yup. The deflector works when you are moving. Sitting still, you're screwed.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I wasn't aware about the signature deal on smartphones so sorry about that one. Anywho, I just had a set installed for free during my 1k service. I've only ridden the bike 124 miles since then, but can tell a noticeable difference. Especially when I position my knee to direct air into the deflector instead of around it. So far I'm happy with them. Maybe I'll get them painted to match my bike this winter. :-) This thing is a money pit, but I'm loving it.

HD, stands for Hundred Dollars, money pit or not still cheaper than the boat(s) I gave up to get it and usable all year providing the weather cooperates.

I like my RJ's Originals "No More Fried Thighs", a forum sponsor.
He studded mine to match the fizz in my Root Beer 'King.
Very effective. Metal back, bend to fine tune the fit.

Default Dont have to try a goldwing to know that heat shields absolutely do work!

...Disagree...they are designed to help keep your thighs cool while your sitting still . Heat shields work great !

Did you guys get your Harley ones painted or is there a source that sells color matched painted ones?
