I've been noticing the heat coming off the rear cylinder and I can bet it's only gonna get WAY worse as summer approaches. Lol, it's much more noticeable than the Buell and the Sportster I had.
I've seen the Mid-frame air deflectors that are are supposed to direct heat away on the touring models for around $80 in the catalog. Are they worth it? Do they they actually work? I see the HD ones are black and Kuryakyn has some smoke chrome ones for a lil cheaper. I'd normally go with HD, but didn't know if anyone had experience with one or the other, or even both. Thanks for any advice.
I have had two touring bikes with some form of shield for the back head to my a$$ and inside of my legs. A 2003 and a 2012, on both so long as you are moving at a decent rate of speed the heat flows down into the rear tire area. Sit still and it still boiled up around you.
I had a aluminum vinyl covered set on the 2003, from No More Fried Thighs, Captain Itch makes a good looking set of leather and of course the MOCO make their own plastic stick on units that also function.
