The wife and I headed out for a long Saturday ride and had a route planned from Dallas to Amarillo, Lubbock and back to Dallas. We were about 45 miles out from fill up and was looking on the GPS for gas. Had one station 2 miles in front and then a couple more about 7 miles down the road and then more about 20 miles further up. We decided to hit the 7 miles and fill up there.
Both gas stations were closed/boarded up. No problems, I still had the miles to make it to the next station. Well, that was until I got down to about 30 miles remaining. At this point, it went from 30 miles to low fuel in about 10 miles and we still had 9 miles to go for gas.

as far as your fuel mileage indicator dropping quickly, on my 09 SE, it dropped about 2 miles for every mile rode -- when I did gas up -- It didn't take as much as it projected
