Security system starting issues
Ok, so I have a '13 Ultra Limited, the neighbor across the cul-de-sac bought a 14 Ultra. we were going to go for a ride yesterday, started and rode my bike over to his driveway. shut it down, when he was ready he fired his up. wen to start mine, lights flashed but would not start. started would not engage. messed with things, he took off around the neighborhood, still would not engage. We agreed to meet a set spot 1/2 mile away, thinking the security systems were messing us up. he left, still would not fire, pushed it back into my garage, and it fired. meet up and road. stopped down the road aways, not 10 feet apart, bikes fired back up. Last night he stoped over, wen to start my bike, no go. he went over and closed his garage door and then my bike would fire.
all the time, 1 fob with the bike, 1 in the garage.
Now I know at dealerships they have bot fob's in the bike and do not seenm to have an issue with starting bikes.
Has anyone else experienced this??? whats the solution? any help is appreciated. I did a search and could not find anything quickly.

Yep. Last year I was on a ferry behind a group made up of mostly Street Glides, Electra Glides, etc. I went to start my bike after the group riders started theirs as the boat was approaching the landing. My 2009 Ultra wouldn't start and the turn signals kept flashing. Bewildered the heck out of me. As soon as the group drove away mine fired right up. The only thing I could figure was that someone's key fob code must have been close to mine. I don't know how else to explain it and it hasn't happened since. Maybe someone else has a better explanation?
My fob battery was less than a month old when it happened.

I'd try a new fob battery first too. Heard of infrared or other security systems in motel parking lots interfering where you need to move the bike 20 feet before it will start, but never heard of two bikes interfering with each other. New battery doesn't cost much to try.
maybe time to replace the fob battery. The neighbor thinks it's funny. He is going to stash one of his fob's near my house when he can't ride and I can so we will both have to be miserable.
