Was riding home last night, relaxing on the freeway, about 67 mph and I started moving my hand around to try and find the cause of the "buffet". After reading recent posts and my experimenting, I'm not as concerned with the windshield height anymore as I was at first. I found there is a tremendous blast that comes UP both forward sides of the tank right toward your armpits. Does anyone make deflectors that go on your crash bars? I went through some rain last week and rain drops that got on the inside of my face shield just "danced around" due to the updraft of air. I don't think 3/4 helmets with shields are the best choice with a windshield. The helmet buffet is enough I think to cause fatigue after several hours of riding. Just can't see "touring" (5-8 hours a day) until I get this resolved.
