Default Be Safe Out There

Sending Good Karma to the biker and his family.

This wasn't me and I do not know the biker that went down. Also, I did not see it happen but have gathered this from second hand a couple guys that saw it happen and gave statements to LEO.

We were at Bike Night at Bronson Rock in Keller, TX. All the sudden I heard a crash and then everyone running to the street. Here's the "story" of what happened:

The biker was slowing down to make a RH turn in to the parking area. He was rear ended by a small suv. Witnesses say she never hit her brakes until after the impact. The bike went about 100 feet and the biker about 50. Some say the lady was going to leave the scene but between the other cars and people who ran out managed to get her pulled over. She had alcohol in the car and on parole for aggravated robbery. She has radiator damage and leaked coolant all over the ground in the parking lot.

The biker was moving arms and legs but not under any real instructions. He had a good head injury and was careflighted out.

The picture is hard to tell. It is a 2014 SG with a tour pack or UC with dry heads. The rear fender is pushed all the way in. Both saddle bags in lots pieces. Rear wheel is crocked.

I hate to see things like this and I hope the guys ok. At least witnesses got the b***h to stop! I was rear-ended on a bike myself, luckily I was able to walk away with a cracked rib, the bike not so much.

Yes, this is how I handle it too. I also keep a good eye in my mirrors. the other pucker factor point for me is when on a multi-lane road and traffic is back up in one lane and the other lane is flowing. I'm just waiting for someone to jump out of the backed up lane in to the moving lane.

You didn't say it, but turn signals 100 yards before the turn helps a lot by telling drivers following that we are going to slow down soon. Anyone who brakes before hitting their turn signal is doing it wrong.

that's why I have my bad *** light on the back, set to the most obnoxious setting. So far so good. No it is working when I see people cover their eyes. Fingers crossed for a good outcome for that guy!
