Bought a Creative Labs Zen Nano 1GB...comes with a case with a clip and I clip it to the windshield bag. Can set up folders or not...about 200 tunes...for 60 bucks? Killer and indestructable (and 18 hours on one AAA battery!
Thanks for all your responses and wisdom. I did not want to spring for an ipod video if it wasn't gonna last, which I do not believe it will now. I am going to get a nano, probably 4 or 8GB. I like the HD MP3 player but I want something I can carry at times. I too hate to buy so many different electronic items for different applications. I am ordering a Dead Center fairing for my RK in the next month but I need some music and my old mp3 is not good for carrying and operating with gloves.
My Creative 40GB Zen Xtra (HD unit) has almost 20,000 miles on it now - without failure. But I attach it to my belt - I don't hard mount it. This isn't so much an issue on my RK as I wear earphones - on the Ultra it's a little more of a mess because I use a patch cord to the Aux In jack. One really important feature for me has been that the side mounted buttons on the Xtra allows me to navigate controls and menus without looking. I triedan iPod (30GB video) a few times and really had a beotch of a time with the touch control without being able to look at it... just my experience and opinion.
BTW - those Creative Zen Xtras are available on eBay for next to nothing ($30-$50) these days.
When I bought my 07 Street Glide I ordered the MP3 player that mounts to the turn signal controls. When it came I was surprised it only had a 64mb card. I went to Best Buy and bought a 2 gig card for $30 works great and holds more songs then I care to listen to.
jcd, is there a menu available with the HD MP3 or do you just load a list of songs and scroll through? Do you get a display of the song thats playing from the mp3 player through the Harmon Kardon radio? I have aniPod I would like to mount but I have concerns aboutshaking and possible theft.

Did they remove the HK stereo from the 07 streetglide? It plays MP3 disks that hold 700 mb.
Ipod nano in pocket if I choose to have music. Not a problem yet, I ususally only use it on long trips...Earphones are inside the cheekpads on my fullface and work great.
