Default MP3 Player, what do you...........

use? Is there anyone who has found hard drive based (Ipod video) not lasting as long as a flash player (nano) in the forever shaking atmosphere of a Harley? I am getting ready for a new MP3 and will eventually add it to the fairing CD/FM on my Road King. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

Hey there biddaddy, I use a Nano mounted on the fairing(rubber belt clip velcro'd onto the fairing-see pic). I can't imagine how a hard-drive based ipod could survive long with all the vibration. My Nano has been on 2 years now and has never failed. I would stick with a flash memory type for sure.

Agreed, if your going to have it mounted on the fairing/bars stay away from a hard drive based player. I put my ipod the fairing pocket once for a trip and had to constantly reset it. I know keep it in the tourpack with a patch cable connecting it to the radio and a remote up front.

I'm using the Ipod "Shuffle" on my SG and so far, no problems.

Flash players is the only way. Heard of MANY hard drive players going bad due to vibration.

I keep my 30 gig iPod in my pocket and just run the cord from my jacket to my stereo.

Don't count out the HD mp3 player. Kinda pricey and it lacks in features. But it mounts rock solid, it's built like a tank and I think it looks good on the bike. I've had one for a few years now and have not had a single issue.

If you are going to add the FM/CD anyway just make sure the player will play MP3s and just burn a CD. I get about 170 songs on a CD that will play around 10 hours without repeating a song.

I have constant issues with my 60 gig Ipod photo which is hard drive based. I dont get out of the neighborhood and it locks up so I stopped using it. I have 15 gigs of music but only listen to about 200 songs while riding so I may switch to a nano or something else. I am tired of buying tons ofdifferent electronics for every application. I am looking into the new Iphone which comes out thisJune and has 8gb's of storage, gps, PDA, video, ipod and of course a phone.
