Default cold start issues

13 SG with recently installed SE stage 4. Now have some issues with cold start. Will start but not on the first crank. Used to fire right up. Starts on second or third try. Once warm will fire right up. Assume something with the tune but would like some ideas before I approach the dealer who did the work.

I have a 09 96ci street glide....same way...before the pipe and heavy breather and race tune it fired up first pop and run fine....98% of the time it still hits first try but runs rough for a few sec and lopes slow and sometimes dies...after a few seconds when it gets a chance to warm for a min it does fine...runs fine and strong all day....been on the dyno twice.....just never did it until the mods...

ask the dealer.

many tuners or ignition systems require a couple of cranks before the plugs fire

our bikes do not have large flywheels and forward momentum has to be built up. otherwise the piston can go backwards "kick back".

so ask them

I have a 12 vsg with vh mo's, se eavy breather, and a pcv. since I put on the heavy breather and pcv tuner mine has a hard time starting when cold, just as described as above. When above 45, starts up no problem. When running, it runs great.

I have the same issue when cold. Like it's not firing when it's suppose to. It has even backfired through the air cleaner. Getting a CVO fender put on and the tuner is gonna look at it while it's there. Said something about changing the way it fires on a cold startup.

Sure, wanted to be a little educated before I spoke to them. So, you're thinking with the stage 4 this is expected?

Same issue here with my 09 RK stage 4. I was suspecting a tune problem.

I have a 107 and it's pretty much the same way. It always starts after 2-3 revolutions when cold. It think that's pretty normal.
