Wanting better than a 120
Met a guy at the Harley dealer last week that put that engine in a low rider frame. Scary fast is how I would describe it.
HD_Rolling, I took the crate motor and as I said I had the crank welded and balanced, installed gaterman lifters, Smith Bros pushrods, Tman 662 cams, pistons had to be replaced with oversize pistons since the stock ones were oval even though the engine was never started. Furthermore the motor was filled with metal shavings and other junk that should have been cleaned before assembly. That's typical Harley though. HD is an acronym for Half Done. It's sad really and in retrospect I would have been better off buying an S&S 124" which was constructed properly to begin with however I would have lost the stealth factor since it's an obvious performance upgrade. I'll lose the stealth factor whith a giant blower hanging on the motor but my priorities have changed a bit.
There's just something about being loaded for a trip with all bags full (including tourpack), and my wife on the back and I can still easily outrun a typically modified CVO with just the rider. I don't plan to do hard launches and stuff but I'msure the roll on performance with 200HP will be quite spectacular to say the least. WOOHOOO!
