I'm not sure if I got a defective one or not and when I went to the dealer and showed them the problem I got the "We've never seen that before" response. The Street cannons for me sound real good and I really want to continue using them.

Anyway as I posted before I looked for what would be causing the problem and I suspected that the exhaust header end was vibrating against the baffle and in turn was slowly but surely causing the baffle to be pushed out. On the initial installation both pipes were pushed in all the way onto the exhaust header.

I removed the pipes, removed the exhaust tips (four bolts), loosened (not removed) the two security bolts on the bottom that hold the baffle. With a rubber hammer I pushed the baffles back in place and tightened the two security bolts. I installed the pipe again but made sure that I left about 1/8th of an inch gap between the baffle and the header end. If you slide the pipe in all the way you can hear and or feel when it makes contact. Once you get there you can pull the pipe back out about 1/8th to be able to get the gap. Use new clamps because on my first try I used the same clamps and one of the pipes seems to have moved even after torquing it down to spec. Make sure that you torque the clamps down to spec.

All I can say for now is that this has worked for me so far. It may work for others if they have this problem so its worth a shot if they want to keep their Cannons.

I've been fighting this problem on the left side pipe for months. Not a real big deal but it's getting to me. The next thing I'm going to try is drill a hole on the upper portion of the muffler body to secure the baffle flange on the top just like it is done on the bottom. This will keep the baffle from backing out and causing the gap. I'll let you all know how it works out.

Default Defective x2

Going on my 3rd set. 2020 Fatboy. The chrome tarnishes within 4k. Covered them with heat shields because they look like ****. Stuffing was blowing out of the first set. MOCO replaced both pipes.
Then the lifter failed last October (2021) MOCO replaced the motor. (Left me with the old heads and pistons, which is half assed). The chrome pipes were bronze after I got it off the freeway. They would not replace the pipes. Now, today (10 months later) I have a big hole blown in the top pipe. The dealer gave me a ride home and are going to replace the pipe with the hole only. Happy Labor Day weekend. M8 motors and screaming eagle parts are junk! Don’t ride ‘em without warranty, and after that yer going to take it up your brown eye! So brace yourself!
