Default Make stock horn louder?

Reading a couple of horn threads and taking advise from them I bought that Fiamm horn that was no louder, and finding out about the screw on the back I messed with the screw on the stock horn, my dad said you didn't know about that, no! He said turn it out a little and it will be louder, using my jump pac to test with off the bike I found the opposite ended up screwing in till it stopped and its day and night compared to my sons 06flhx, its noticeabley louder or more, which according to a decibel chart is at least 5 decibel or more. I know its not as loud as a air horn but I wanted to keep mine to work with my wardspartswork fans. JFYI if this helps anyone

you are adjusting a points type gap.

it is possible to pooch the horn if you allow the points to weld together.

the gap regulates the current flow to the diaphragm and adjusts the frequency of the opening/closing of the circuit

ever hear a horn that sounds like a sick moo-cow ?

That adjustment is very voltage sensitive. Adjusted for maximum volume on the power pack may only be a moderate volume mounted on a running bike.

I purchased the HD Horn that's on the 2014 OEM. It's much louder than the 2013 & down.
$45.00. Direct bolt on.
