Just recieved my C$C wide solo with gel last week for my 14 SGS. A VERY comfortable seat. I had mine dug out to give me another 1.75 leg room. Combined with the Tall Boy floorboard relocator that I got and installed yesterday, the bike is now fantastically comfortable. Last step is new bars and a new extended brake pedal, and then I am leaving it alone.
I have no experience with Danny Gray, but will vouch for C&C. Do yourself a favor and get the gel.
Also, their customer service was great. Talked to me for 25 minutes while on internet going through what I wanted. Gave me all pros and cons of each material and option to help me make my decision.
I was in the market for a solo for my 09 Electraglide last fall. I went with a C&C fastback in textured leather rather than a solo. Stock seat made me feel like I was too high and too far forward. I had abadlander- 1 hour my butt was screaming, but I sat in the bike not on it. The C&C gives the position closer to badlander, but I can ride all day with the C&C.
I wanted gel, but decided against it due to the heat retention issues with gel. The foam is a heavy foam and actually feels better to me than the stock couch.
C&C solo with removable backrest here. Our ride from Seattle to Sturgis two years ago we did 500 miles a day(and over 700 a day on the way home) and had no issues with butt burn. That being said, after 500 miles I was done riding for the day. My vote C&C.
anyone purchase from C&C in the last few months... I have not heard from them after attempting to place an order 3 days ago. I dont mind if they are too busy to correspond, but an order confirmation would be nice.

Just call them up and speak with Dave! I'm sure they are getting busy, but Customer Service is second to none. He'll set you straight.

My new C&C solo seat doesn't fit worth a damn, sent them three pics and haven't heard from them yet. I'm sure they are busy and will respond sooner or later, no big deal as I'm sure they will figure out something to make it right.

Yea, I wish I could call them, but I am in Afghanistan... kind of wanted the seat to be at my house when I get home as I only have a few days to ride while I am back. O well, thats the price of dealing with a small company I guess, cant blame them for me being oconus. Just wish they would jump into the internet age and at least fix their website.
