Finally decided to to the audio project I have been putting off....amp and speaker upgrade in my 2013 Road glide.
Got the speaker adapters and speakers mounted..(pain in the *** to get the adapter rings to mount up)...took out the oil/air temp gauges to mount the tweeters and of course the holes are to big.
What is the best, most secure way to mount the tweeters in the hole's ?
Also, where did everyone mount the crossover's..? Mine are a little smaller than a deck of cards.I don't really want to drill into the inner fairing at all...was thinking about some industrial hook and loop velcro...not the fuzzy stuff but the heavy duty stuff like they us on an e-z pass, or whatever you guys call that device, you mount on your windshield that charges your credit card when u go through a toll booth.
I did a search but really only found a few random threads.
Get the gauge block-offs (75106-96a) and cut them for the tweeters.
My crossovers are mounted to the speaker/batwing braces.
What he said about the gauge block offs. I used a hole saw (I think 1 1/2") to cut them out and then trimmed them just enough so that the tweeters friction fit. Worked perfect! I used Velcro to attach my crossovers.
What tweeters did you buy? My hawg werks tweeters snapped right in and fit like they were meant to be there, I just zip tied my cross overs in to the other wires and they have stayed in place for a few years now.
Thats what I thought...just wanted to make sure....
HD Rolling, I bought a set of Rainbow components...tweeters are about 1/2" to small. I have used Rainbow's in a few cars in the past and ar by far the best speakers I have heard...prolly sound like crap on the bike but...lol
Anybody use foam baffles or any other dampening material around the speakers?

I purchased two new gauge mount pods. Used a hole saw on those to enlarge. Used Hot glue from the back to hold the tweeter in the gauge pod. Car audio shops do the same thing.
