I was just wondering if anyone has found a legitiment looking DOT sticker to put on a helment. I refuse to wear a huge hot basketball DOT helmet. Sucks that law enforcement has nothing better to do than both people about a helmet, thanks
In TN, no matter how authentic it looks, the TNHP will write you a ticket. They wanted to ticket me for my shortie helmet even though the DOT symbol was imprinted in the finish. The cop was pi$$ed because he had no way of proving my helmet was not DOT approved.

Now thats funny. I was going to clear it in too. Do you remember where you got the sticker by any chance? thanks
huge DOT helmets look foolish on people, plus there hot as hell
I've worn a full face modular helmet for years...I've never felt too hot in it.
I was hit in the face with a large piece of truck recap about ten years ago at 80 MPH...It took me off of the bike.
Helmet was badly damaged, I had road rash and bruises, but got up and walked away.
You would have been dead before you hit the pavement.
Being dead looks even more stupid than a little plastic "Novelty Helmet".
Some places give a separate ticket for the false sticker, but a lot of leather shops that sell helmet stickers I have found to sell the DOT sticker if you ask when no one else is around. My days of wearing non-DOT are way over, seen too many saved with real and killed with the fake. My Akoury AK-88 is close enough to being a non-DOT anyways, if you didn't see the inside you would guess it was a novelty.
imo a DOT is just going to make you a in a wheel chair the rest of your life in that case i would rather be dead with my novelty. just saying
