Same story on my 96. After putting a Screaming Eagle exhaust and air cleaner on it, lots of blow back. Dealer "fixed" the problem under extended warranty, only he didn't. It just leaks less. Was then told this will happen with overfilling oil. But I don't. Still no solution.
I pulled the hoses out of the backing plate, plugged them, then ran new hoses (joined with a t fitting) up over the motor then down the front frame tube with tube sticking down below the bottom of the bike about 1 to 1-1/2". End of spooge.
Man that is a ridiculous measure to have to take. I just posted a question about this in the oil forum. I didn't know it was called blow back. If we're talking about the same thing. I have the Screamin Eagle Heavy Air Breather that's leaking but it's not leaking. There's definitely oil on the left side of it, but it's more like a smudge. If that's what we're talking about here (blow back), this is stupid. So I have to rig up my brand new street glide with this how ever many hundreds of dollars I paid for this gorgeous air cleaner? Is that where this post is going? If that's true, that's just freaking stupid. And I'm not gonna be happy!
I think that contraption you have set up is cool, but dude if it comes to that, I'm gonna be pissed!

You might as well get ready to get pissed. Seems the newer bikes are more prone to this blow back. We always called it puking. My 14 Limited is doing worse than any of my previous HDs so I vented it to the ground. It does mark it's spot like the old days though. So much for modern technology.
this is my 3rd harley and all had blow back unless no way around it as its going to happen! You arent expecting a properly designed motorcycle were you lol.
I run the Ness big sucker and I chose it because it vents right at the edge of the Throttle body.
Mine Blows back/pukes when on long rides of extended higher RPM.
Rode to KY last week when I got there my chaps has oil on them and the Timing cover area was covered.
Under normal day to day I don't see any drips
I found the easiest solution is to not give a ****!
In the pic here you can see the ports come out right at the mouth of the backing plate.
