I don't know if I'm ready to retire to not giving a ****...but the idea does take the edge off. But the sound of oil all over my chaps after distances does add some flare to the subject. As far as I'm concerned, if my engine isn't heading south and the problem doesn't get worse, I guess I can live with it. Oh and if my chaps, jeans or whatever don't get oil all over them. I'm not sure I could live with that. At that point I'd have to seriously consider some of the bright ideas I've been reading on this forum. Cause that's just way too much to not give a **** about in my opinion. That is a pretty funny solution though.
He might be referring to DK Customs (a forum sponsor). There was a thread on this same topic a few weeks ago and DK had a solution with one of his products.
I have a 2013 Road King FLHR with a stage 1 download and a heavy breather. Lately I've been getting blow back. The dealer checked it out and said everything was fine but the problem still exists. Today the dealer called Harley and was told that this problem happens on some bikes especially with 103 engines. The way to fix it would be to replace what I have with a regular Screamin Eagle air cleaner. At my cost. Did I spend a lot of $ on a part Harley knows doesn't always work? I think it should be recalled and replaced with no cost to me. Does anyone else with this setup have a blow back issue?
Where is your oil leaking from? Is there oil leaking from the bottom of the air filter? I don't see how oil blow by can get all the way into the filter on a Heavy Breather.
My heavy breather does not do this even with oil full on the dipstick. I see this as an advantage as the oil has to travel around a curve to get to the filter. Stage 1 103.

I agree. On my Heavy Breather the intake tube also actually rises up a little to the filter. Any oil blow by just about has to go into the intake. I wonder if he isn't leaking oil from the breather plugs instead of the filter??? Maybe bad O rings??
Oil isn't leaking from the filter. It leaks from the the joint where the tube from the filter connects to the intake. Usually a mist that can carry back to the rear exhaust pipe and the passengers pants.

There is a thick gasket that is to be between the tube and the intake. I would take it back to the dealer. Either the gasket is missing or it wasn't torqued correctly. Should not leak!!!!
Dealer checked the installation of the Heavy Breather and said it was done correctly
If that is what the dealer said then it must be a FACT!! LOL!!
If it is leaking oil between the tube and the intake, then I would think it would be leaking air too. That is not good. I would have to question the dealer again and ask them to take the joint apart, replace/install the gasket and make sure the screws are properly torqued to prevent oil/air leaks at that joint.
