When I did the T-Man cam intake and tune I put on a set of V&H Hi Output slip on mufflers. I don't like them, some resonance that gives me a headache and I think a bit loud for touring. Not sure if it was the smartest thing but I ordered a set of Monster Squared. I haven't seen or heard any so for 700 bucks I'm my own test dummy... I've lost twice that in one roll of the dice before so what the hell, right?. I'll let you know how it goes.
If you don't use them, try ear plugs. You should be wearing them anyway, while touring, to protect your hearing. Best riding aid known to man! They cost pennies to try out.

It's more of a resonation issue for me, ear plugs didn't help any. When I started the bike in my garage it knocked stuff off the shelves in the house, I think it's having that same effect on my head haha. I have a set of Ovals, just didn't like the sound of them. I'll sell the ovals and the Hi Outputs and see how the Squared do for me. Hope to see them this week yet...
well im in the market for a set of squared, so if you dont like em.. dibs? lol
Looks like I'll be keeping the monster squared... Installed they look great, the sound issue I was having with the Hi Outputs is gone. The Monster Squared are loud and sound great at WOT and when reving to warn the douche bag in the mini I was there after he cut off two other drivers. At 70 with the cruise set I can listen to the radio just fine and no resonance that was giving me a headache.
Very happy so far. Now I have a 700 mile set of Vance and Hines Hi Output slip ons for sale.
I've got the Monster Squared too; however, I want them to have more sound. Mine are pretty quiet. What head pipe are using? I have the V&H Dresser Duals. Maybe my issue is the header and not the pipes?
Understand that, I tried Monster Ovals and they sounded great at idle and around town but on the Slab at speed they had whit I call a "drone" and didn't like that as I enjoy my tunes....................
I went back to stock for a bit until I got ahold of a set of CVO take off slip-ons and I LOVE them. To each his own though as some like to set off car alarms and such.
a resonance can be a pipe, or it can be the result of a helmet... the volume of the helmet can resonate at specific frequencies...so the exhaust is not fully to blame, the helmet would resonate in the presence of any sound source.
the rider can try a different hat & see what the effect is.
