lol..that sure does a disservice to the extended warranty business...how stupid, as well as arrogant. Is there no wonder that so many have little trust in the integrity of that company. Suppose his wife weighed 400 pounds? Would they claim her weight put un ecessary aerodynamic drag on the bike, thus voiding the warranty? I see some back lash to this idiocy...large amount.
Truly a new low for an excuse to deny a warranty claim.
The issue isnt that the flags are heavy, Harley spokeswoman Maripat Blankenheim told the Journal-Sentinel, but they provide terrific drag on the engine and the transmission, especially when the bike is at highway speeds.
I will call the company tomorrow at the start of their business day. They do
not have a consumer email access?? I think that as many members as possible should call, voice their outrage...this is the heigth of arrogance...and they need to be told so...
I would have someone on the carpet on this deal, override the fool who denied the claim and dock him a day's pay and fix the bike, a big PR was missed on this one.
Seven flags. Let's assume they are all big and impart maximum drag.
Rough calculations, ~30 lbs force from a 3x5 flag at highway speeds. Times 7 gives 210 lbs drag.
Yea buddy, that kind of drag is just going to do in a Harley. Where's the rolling eyes icon.
How do you figure a flag at "highway speeds" generates 30lbs? You must be one of them physicist rocket scientist types. Haha. But seriously how do you figure? I know that I tried to hold a 3x5 flag out of a car window once at about 70 mph and I couldn't do it. I bench over 350 so not a nancy or nothing.
