I ride to work every day regardless.I do have a truck but that's primarily the wife's car.I really do hate riding in the rain mainly because these bikes are a royal pain in the a$$ to keep clean. The rain and road grime really dirties mine up to the point where I have to give it a real soap and water bath. Most of the time I just spray and wipe it down with Lemon Pledge.Lucky for me I live in CA., we don't get much rain.

i ve had to goals in my life.... not loose a house to a women... short lived
Thunderstorms complicates it for me here as i use back roads that puddle up with holes in em... + work is @ a dead end mud covered road
Agree with you tho if it wont run in rain find one that does
Understand what your saying, luckily I don't have to deal with any of that. Not sure if it would stop me too much until I experience it. Probably just have to be a little more alert and careful.
I would have to at least try it several hundred times before I came to a decision on whether it would stop me riding daily.
When I built my custom back in 2001 I never took my bike if their was a chance of rain. That's probably one of the reasons it only has 30K on it today. Purchased my Ultra and told myself if it isn't raining I'm riding.
If the roads are salt free and its not raining when I leave the house then I'm Riding.
So far I have only been caught a few times in the rain on the ride home. I have a 25 to 30 mile commute each way depending on my route. I've owned the bike just over one year and have just over 18K on the odometer. Wont be long before I surpass my 2001.
Well u all convinced me no rain when i leave i ride.... now i just have to pray for no flats...as the area is full with scrap yards and they shred cars all day leaving the roads with tooth picks made of steal... as the carries haul it out it falls off the tractor trailers .....whole nother thread
