Default ME880 Tire pressures

Just installed a set on my 06 flhti after the dunlops went at 10,000 miles. Checked the metzeler site and was surprised to see the pressures listed at 38 psi for the front and 44 psi for the rear tire. I was wondering what other riders were putting in their tires since I thought this was a bit high.
Thanks,
Scott

I actually run 42 in the front and 46 in the rear,up to 50 if the bike is heavily loaded.

Anything less than the manufacturer's recommendations wil result in cupping of the tires due to tread design.

I run the same as Dalton, 42F and 46-48R. Even with these higher pressures, they still ride/handle better than Dunlops. Most problems with 880's occur when you don't run these proper pressures.

40 PSI front, 42-46PSI rear. Got 12K miles out of my last Metz rear, on an 06 Road Glide.

The 38F is a bit low, the 42-50 will give you the handling benefit that people buy Metz's for.

That is the very bare minimum air pressure at 70
degrees F riding one up they are recommending.

42 PSI FRONT and50 PSI REAR is for two up loaded
at high speed and it is marked on your side walls!

38 PSI FRONT and 44 PSI REAR two up at high speed
in 80+ degree weather the tires will cup badly! Metzeler
won't mind that, but your wallet sure will

BTW: Check out this thread to learn why
not to run 38 F and 44 R two up loaded!

I figured the tire manufacturer knew more about tires than me so I follow their recommendations. From what I've heard on this forum it's better to err on the high side than low (by a few pounds) when it comes to tire pressure regardless of brand.
