This Street Glide sounds awesome but isn't an idle that low dangerous? I've heard the TC motor needs at least 1k rpm to provide sufficient oil flow. Fact or fiction?

oil volume and pressure are dependent on rpm's.

the oil not only lubricates, but is part of the cooling system oil carries heat from the hottest parts of the motor away to be dispersed to the air.

if it wasn't for the sound it would be hard to believe it was even running, don't believe I've never seen one idle that smooth.

My understanding was that it had to be 900 rpms or more to oil properly. I guess there are 2 ways to look at it, they don't idle for long, so what does it matter, or, idle is when they make the most heat, so that when it needs to circulate lots of oil. It sounds good, and the old Evo bikes idled lower than that, often turning on the oil light. Carbed twin cams idled lower as well, so....

I have no real knowledge but I believe the oil pressure thing is fiction. Evos/shovels/knuckles all had worse oiling systems than twincams and they had no oiling problems at idle. The "idle" thing with twincams is more about light flywheels and mapping imho.
