Hey, Thinking about putting a ProCharger on my 2003 Electra Glide Standard. Anybody know of any reasons that I shouldn't? Just kicking the idea around.
It's your bike....let 'er rip! Do you have a lot of miles on the engine? Cam bearings OK? Tensioner shoes look good? Stock innards? You don't really want to supercharge a high compression engine....
Sounds like fun to me...if you blow it up, what the hey! Buy a new Jim's 120 and stick it in there!
The bike has 9,000 miles and is stock. What does "on" all the time hurt?
Just asking because everything i see seems to think it would be a nice addition to the bike.
Please let me know what your thoughts are.
thanks Guys!!!!!!
i think i'd be great....just build the motor for it like the bottom end and correct pistons and CR...with a blower friendly cam it oughta be a great addition...procharger makes a great product
Well think about it this way, if it makes more power the engine is getting strained more...with that said, if you properly set up the engine for the supercharger everything should be fine (like Bryan said), heck they come stock on some factory cars BTW, if you are looking for seat of the pants feel, its the torque your after HP is for charts, streetable power is usually torque, especially on a HD IMHO
Sounds like a fun project, let us know how you are doing with it.

On all the time means:
Max pressure against pistons crank etc."all the time". Everything WILL wear out faster. If motor built for it it will hold up, no short cuts on the parts you use.
I personally would rather use nitrous, motor needs to be built same way, but only"on" when you want it. Also far cheaper.

Youshould look into what shape your motor is in,and talk to people that have run a huffer.Cover all the bases.I for one just built a bigger engine,it is a shame to hide that beautiful V-Twin.
