Are the Stage 1 air cleaners reusable?

Most of them use K&N so you just clean them and reoil them.

depends which specific filter you have.

if a HD kit, ask at the dealer.

K&N are washable and need to be re-oiled.
The older ness ( and screaming eagle) used K&N.
Newer ness use an oiled washable filter similar to the K&N

K&N makes their own detergent/cleaning/re-oiling kit to wash their filters. You can pick it up at any auto parts store. Some stage 1 filters are not from K&N though.

How do you know if K&N made the air filter? My SE filter looks it, but the K&N cleaning kit says it could dissolve other brands, so I want to be sure.

upon further review, mine says "dry filter do not oil" in fine print so I guess it's not a K&N. I did find the K&N filter element, Harley p/n 29400019 is cheaper thru surdyke than the K&N p/n HD-0818!

If you have a k&n style air filter it will have a steel mesh with red or blue cloth in between the mesh, you can clean them with k&n filter cleaner and do NOT skip reoiling them before you put it back together, in the last couple of months I've seen a couple of filters that people cleaned and did not reoil.

My Kuryakyn AC uses a K&N

The filter is labeled with both K&N and Kuryakyn on the rubber on the downstream side of the filter. I imagine if you had a K&N, yours would be labeled, too.
