AMSOIL (BEWARE)
ORIGINAL: dan boudreau
When I was putting the bikes to rest for the winter and doing the fall oil changes I decided that I was going to go with Amsoil instead of HD Syn3 after hearing nothing but good things about Amsoil. So after a long winter and some mods and accessories added it was time to start them up and ride.I wanted to take my wifes bikes (06 Streetglide)for a test ride before I let her ride because I did some work and wanted to make sure everything was cool.As I was riding I noticed a vibration but everything else was fine let her take a ride and she said it was not there before.I proceeded to ride my bike it also had a vibration but not as bad.My wife did notice that after the bike warmed up it was gone checked everything and could not figure it out dealer said it could be the tires that were out of round and that after they warmed up they fixed themselves. So after some debate decided to try changing fluids and see if any difference.Guess what ?.Vibrations totally gone can't figure this out but I am sticking with HD product. This does not seem to make any sence to me just wondering if anybody has heard of this or may know what may cause this.

The tire thing is very common ... especially with Dunlops.
Did you make sure that the bottles of Ams were balanced before the pour?? It's a must, uneven bottles causes vibration everytime, even with Syn3. At least with Syn3 you can take the uneven bottles back to the dealer for an exchange.
Initial observation, not proven yet. I just switched to Mobil 1 a couple of weeks ago from Syn 3. I hear more valve train noise than before under load. Might be running a little cooler though. The summer will tell the story.[&:]

Yeah let me tell it for my H.O.G. stock (Buy HD) but the truth is HD oil is SUB STANDARD and will not protect your investment as well as M1, Amsoil,RP,RL

I agree that it does not make any sense and it was not a one time thing. The mods I did were painted inner fairings, braided lines, chrome bars and new guages in my bike nothing that would cause engine vibrations. So again I do not beleive that oil will cause vibrations. I just now that all I did was change the fluids andthe vibrationsare now gone !!

unbalanced oil...excellent ...ever think the MODS you did may have been the cause
