Its extremely silly to even suggest that the Amsoil caused the vibration. Tens of thousands (perhaps more) of bikes have Amsoil in their cranks without incident. Besides...you said that the vibration went away after things warmed up. I just don't think that you gave the Amsoil a fair try. I would ride with your HD oil for a thousand miles or so and then try the Amsoil again and see what happens. BTW, I don't currently use Amsoil, but I sure wouldn't be afraid to.
WOW !. I am not saying that Amsoil is bad in any way.Heres the scoop same temp outside same fuel in tank, new spark plugs, parked in heated garage all winter on stands tires off the ground. I can not explain it or do I beleive that Amsoil would cause vibrations I do think that an engine, trans or primary can get used to a type of oil and have put 37,000 KMS (about 25,000 miles) with SYN3 and maybe that has something to do with it.I would bet that maybe if I put Amsoil back in the vibrations would be gone but now that I have put SYN3 back in both bikes at a cost of about $200.00 that its there to stay.
WOW !. I am not saying that Amsoil is bad in any way.
Well then why did you title the thread "AMSOIL (BEWARE)? I think this sounds like to most as a shot at Amsoil which has a loyal following here.
During warm up did you notice any of these vibrations? If you did notice vibrations during warmup why did you ride before investigating? If there were no vibrations during warmup and it started during your ride, at what speed did it occur? I would think that it would have been noticed during a takeoff/acceleration right off the bat and you would have stopped.
Having experienced engine caused vibrations and rotating mass/tire type vibrations, I can tell you that they are completely different and cannot be confussed with one another. Can you describe the vibrations in more detail? Did you feel it in the pedals or handlebars, ect..? This will help..
