In town usually about just under 10 over the speed limit. Brother is a cop and after hanging a while with his cop buddies, most of them say they leave people alone so long as they are not more than 10 over. Interstates usually cruise about 85 - 90. Long country roads, whatever I can get away with. Usually about 80-85 if the speed limit is 65-70.

Super slab 8 over set the cruise and deal with the boredom, fun roads, find the point where the boards are dragging in the turns then turn it down a notch, I have no hard fast rules about them, other than the little yellow speed warning signs for curves typically mean double it for entry speed. Then I usually need to stand the bike up on the throttle because I find I'm still turning tighter than the radius of the turn about 1/2 way through.

I like to move faster than traffic, so you aren't stuck in blind spots, and you don't get surprised by speeders behind you.
YEAH THAT

I rarely have people pass me no matter what I am riding/driving but especially on a motorcycle, I hate people coming up behind me, much prefer moving my way through traffic. I do keep closing speeds low and once around them just a bit faster than what they were traveling until I get a clear view ahead then I'll roll it on a bit to get up to the next vehicle in my way.

My wife doesn't like riding with me but says my son rides a nice calm pace... thought I raised him better

God I miss riding in S. America... you could generally ride the way you wanted to with the limiting factor being self preservation... heck we used to have the cops ask us to pull wheelies as we left checkpoints

I'd have to call BS on this... I find it a little hard to believe that you go into a posted 45mph corner at 90mph and find yourself turning so tight that you have to get on the gas

or a 25mph corner which is a right angle you take at 50mph

Maybe they post the corner speed differently up there in Indian country to account for the fire-water.

riding in a group requires social skills not attitude.
who cares how fast you ride alone?

Riding in a group....5 over on the backroads, 5-10 on the interstate. On my own....5-10 over on a backroad, faster than most of the traffic on the interstate.

Default Do I really ride too fast.

Trying to figure out what the poster means by "thug riders"? I have ridden Harleys since 1978 when I learned to kick and ride my Dad's 64 Duoglide, at 14 years old. He himself learned to ride during WWII when he was assigned to the colored side of the base as a MP. Since I live in northern Ohio and will be returning to Ohio Bike Week this weekend, on either my 64, 66 Electraglide or 12 Limited, I would welcome a in person discussion on this topic with the original poster....

If the road is clear 10+ over. Following my husband sucks for lots of reasons but mainly he rides like he's trying to win something. The other day on the interstate I hit 90 following him and just gave up and let him pull away. I know my way home....

I usually ride 10-15 over the speed limit on all roads. Most of my groups ride 5-10 over, with some friends we'll do 15-20 over. Except on A1A when we all keep it to 4-5 over as there are too many pedestrians, joggers, cyclists and tourists. Never been pulled over, Fl cops are pretty good about the HDs as long as we're in formation and in control.
