I've been looking at the new Street Glides.Went to a dealer and really liked the Special.Haven't done a test ride yet but planning on it soon.My main question is,is it worth spending a little more for the Special over the base Street Glide?I'd be coming off a Softail Deuce to the Glide. Also, what are the main differences in the two models that made your minds up to go with the Special over the base model?Looking forward to getting your responses. Thanks
Shane
For me it was about ABS linked, rear suspension, and I liked the gps built in. My only problem was the crazy red pin stripes for the color I wanted but the more I looked at it the more I liked it. Then I added up the cost if I were to add just abs to the FLHX and it was almost the same price as the special so for me it was a easy decision. But not everyone likes ABS or are crazy about the GPS. First decide what is important to YOU for options and decide from there. There are minor differences as far as the tank bib, the intake insert cover but for the most part besides the three things I mentioned they are the same bike. Also consider what you want to change out on the bike, if you go with special would change out the wear suspension? is the GPS a most have? do you like ABS? and can you get a better deal on the FLHXS vs. FLHX? the FLHXS may hold more value in the future if you ever decide to sell. Good luck. you will be happy either way.
For me it was the ABS and security and GPS. I also like the painted inner fairing and color matched fairing skirt. Wasn't crazy about the pin stripe either but it grew on me too and now I don't even notice it. Good luck with ur choice!!
SGS is one sweet bike! I wish I could have, but that extra 10k from what I got was just too much at this time. If you can afford it, get the SGS....you will be glad you did!
