Wheel Change
Hello all. I have a 2008 Non abs SG. A friend gave me a set of Airstrike SG wheels off his 2011 SG. The front wheel is an 18" wheel versus my 16" wheel. I chromed out the front wheel, changed the bearing to a non abs bearing and mounted it on my bike. It looks great. The rear wheel is useless to me because it is a 16X5 and the wheel on my bike is a 16X3. I need a 16x3 Airstrike wheel so I can chrome it out and install it on my bike. That is a hard find and I'm told they are rare. All the ones I've found are very expensive. So I decided to just try to find any chrome wheel as all thal will show is the chrome outter portion of the wheel when parked and on the jiffy stand. the rest of the wheel is hidden behind the saddle bag. I found a 9 spoke chrome wheel advertised on craigslist for $100. It comes off of a 2005 "touring bike" but it doesnt specify what bike. Im thinking its off of a EG or Ultra. My question is, will this wheel fit on my 2008 and can i just remove the pulley from my exsisting wheel nad out it on this 05 wheel. I called HD to see if that would work. One dealership says it wont work and the other syays it will. I'm totally confused. Any education on this would be much appreciated.
