Can't go wrong with either. JMO but I've always thought the EGS was the best buy HD offers for the money. But then again opinions are like A$$holes...everybody has one

Tough call for sure. Same dilema I faced as well. With all the take off SG stuff floating around, especially seats & windshields, making the EGS to SG conversion is pretty darn cheap. As far as the blacked out engine, I've gotten a lot of compliments and comments about like the more polished/bright look- each their own.
If I were to do it again, I might opt for the EG Classic and install a quick detach kit on the tour pack, but overall, no regrets going EGS vs. SG now that I've added the stuff I have and if you go with a Hawg Wired or similar radio kit, it's far cheaper than the HD version.
Dont forget that the street glide has the nicer bullet turn signals and clean fender. these things are the types of things you will start to notice after you take posession of the electra glide standard.
I just sold my 07 heritage andI looked at the EG and SG And a RK. hard Choice But I am going with the SG. Black Pearl. Just like the look and the feel.
