Ok, I just bought my new Limited. Had to trailer it home from TN to NJ. As soon as I got home the bike wouldn't start. First let me say that I'm 99% sure I left the ignition off, the 1% is because hey, we all mess up sometimes. When I turn the ignition and run switch on, the instrument gauges start flickering and there's a clicking noise from the battery. The infotainment system doesn't come on either. Press on the start button and there's nothing, not even a crank. Yes, the fob was in the tour pack not in the car with me. I put it on a trickle charger today for about 6 hours so far and still nothing. Any ideas? This is killing me to have a brand new bike sitting in the garage not being able to ride it.
sounds like the battery is dead... that clicking is a relay cycling on and off due to low voltage... use a volt meter at the battery tender, located behind the left side fuse panel, check voltage, should be 13v +... the battery tender will take a long time to get the battery charged, you need at least a 10 amp charger...

You need a real charger to get the battery charged. It could take days with a trickle charger. If it will charge it at all some charger need a certain voltage before they will even turn on.
It's a small Die Hard battery charger I bought for my riding mower... Should I use larger? I had a battery run completely dead on my 2012 RGU once (a family member I was in a feud with turned the ignition on and left it for days), battery was so shot I needed to buy a new one. It wouldn't take a charge at all
The tour pack is most likely too far away from the dash for the fob, it has a very limited reach. With the trailering came a lot of bouncing around and probably the constant activation of the security system ran the battery dead.
Like others said, if you are trying to use a trickle or tender type charger... then put a real charger on it all night and I bet it fires right up.
did you start/ride your limited at the dealer when you picked it up, did it start ok? as previous poster stated it could be bad ground, or a bad battery... but it you started it at the dealer and it ran fine, its probably just dead... question would be why... but you will need more than a trickle charger to charge the battery if its dead...
If it's dead and bad...it won't start no matter what you do...buddy of mine battery died last summer...it would not even jump off with the truck...installed new battery...bam...starts right up...
I just got impatient and turned on the ignition... Infotainment center came on and turned over (a clunk) once... It's getting there... Hopefully by morning my little charger gives enough juice to turn it over. Then I'll run the hell out of it and hopefully it holds the charge
