Default Put SE air cleaner on 2014 street glide special...ECM calibration question

Hi all, I just bought a 2014 street glide special a couple of weeks ago. I was in the harley store today and bought a SE Chiseled extreme billet air cleaner. I didn't look at this online before hand and didn't notice that it required ECM calibration until I got it home and read the instructions. The guy at the parts counter didn't mention anything about it requiring a ECM cal. If I knew this I might've just brought the bike in and let them do it. But I went ahead and put it on as I have a tuner on the bike and the ability to add fuel so I'm not worried about running it leaner than it already was. I looked online and noticed this under the info for these air cleaners:

"Recalibration is required for proper installation, and will allow engine to rev to 6200 RPM. See Dealer for details. Labor cost is not included."

Is that really all the ECM recal is for? To adjust rev limiter? I guess my question is should I try and get the bike in ASAP to get the ECM recaled or is this something that can wait until 1000 mile service?

What tuner are you using? Any base maps for a stage 1 with your tuner?

It's a EJK Gen3 tuner from Dobeck. It comes preset for most stage 1 mods.

Never heard of it.

Is it a flash tuner, or is it a piggy back unit?

"preset for most stage 1 mods" sounds like a line of bull to me, but that is merely my opinion. What it most likely does is add fuel across the board, which isn't going to hurt you, per se, but it ain't really going to help you either.

It's a piggyback. Here's the website

No, it probably is not dialed in exactly for every stage 1 air cleaner and exhaust out there but it is set from the manufacturer somewhat close. I will have to adjust settings and find what I think is best. I really don't want to get into what you all think is and isn't a good tuner and your opinions on the best way to tune your bike. I've had this tuner on my last two bikes and it works fine for what I want it to do. My primary concern is eliminating the lean as hell condition the bike comes in from the factory and the even leaner condition of putting on stage 1 mods. And maybe get a little better performance. This tuner accomplishes that for me. My original question is how important is getting the ECM calibration that harley deems so critical after putting on the SE air cleaner?

Do not have the dealer do the reflash. Your Dobeck may handle the A/C well enough for ya, But the one on my '09 (anyone that wants to pay $20 shipping and handling can have it) when I bought it was pretty useless. Hope ya have better luck?? The real fix is a proper flash tuner (SEPST/TTS/PV) and tune.

OK, I gotcha.

I agree with the aged one above.

But stop calling it a tuner, it is not.
A fuel management system.... ok, I'll buy that.

Thanks. Just curious why didn't you like the one on your '09?

You still have stock exhaust? If so... don't sweat any of this. Bike will run fine with a different AC.

Change mufflers or exhaust? All bets are off. It will then depend upon how long you plan on owning the bike. Couple years and get a new one? That piggyback is good enough. Going to keep it longer, I recommend a full blown tuner like TTS or SEPST. It's all about timing and not fuel.

No, I don't still have the stock exhaust. Can you explain further your reasoning because that doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. Why is two years the magical mark where I need to go from a piggyback solution to some crazy *** expensive tuning solution?
