Default compensator question

Hey guys im runnin a 2012 street glide. Se254 cams se heavy breather v&h power duals and 4" rineharts performance baffles. My issue is i had this happen once before when beatin on it and it just happened to me today. I finally got it dyno tuned so i had to beat on it a bit to make sure everything was tip top shape. Upon bangin up thru the gears i just got into maybe 4th wacked the throttle wide open and it dropped into 3rd. Is this a compensator or trans issue

Maybe you didn't get it all the way into 4th before you wacked it. Is it showing any other signs of a failed compensator? If you don't know what the signs are there are several threads on here that will enlighten you.

Sounds like a rider issue to me! Banging gears isn't a very wise way of riding - be a bit more careful when making changes. It is possible that when making one gear change you are not releasing the positive-stop mechanism so it can properly reset, before you try to make the next change.

Not the comp. Could be a trans issue but more likely pilot error.

It also seems to be havin a hard time starting. Takes a good bit longer then usual and can really hear the compressio in it before it starts. Guess ill let it sit a day and try it on a cold start and see how it starts.

i wouldn't think it's a comp. issue, operator error more likely. maybe the trans trap door bearing are getting bad and you have side play in the shafts.

bent shifting forks from beating on it, not locking in completely before releasing clutch, if you are using the clutch.
They all do that, it is normal
