Default Front motor mount collapsed

Found the front motor mount on my 2003 ultra is collapsed. I don't have any vibration issues, I just noticied the center bolt through the mount was loose.

Is there any issue with riding the bike before I get this fixed? could I end up doing damage to something else if I don't change the rubber mount sooner than later?

I wouldn't ride it until it's repaired.

You don't want the motor bouncing around in the frame without the mounting system "whole" with which to "contain" it...

The front mount bolt goes through a tube in the mount. At the bottom there is a large washer. The whole thing is failsafe if the bolt is tight. Are you sure the mount has actualy failed or is the bolt just lose? A colapsed mount will not result in a lose bolt.

I wouldn't ride far. Having failed it isn't performing its function of isolating the engine from the frame. You should be able to get one from your local dealer Monday morning and install it over lunch.....

The rubber isn't torn but it looks collapsed to me. I will compare to another bike to make sure. It wasn't vibrating with the bolt loose and it isn't now that I tightened it.
It doesn't look too hard to replace.

If the rubber is at least 1/2inch thick it should Ok. Depending which one you have the can look to "bulge". This is what a wrecked early type one looks like

I just replaced mine with a Dag Specialties model, that is supposedly like the early model mounts. It is much smoother now, and only set me back $20 compared to $70ish at the dealer.

Replace the mount, it's a easy job.

Easy but messy job, just did mine turned out the mount was installed upside down. Flipped it over & bike is crazy smooth now, CD never skips!
