Is there a specific sequence to follow when installing an entire exhaust system? This is for the stock system and/or the addition of Street Cannon slip ons. I had it off to decat the header, when I first installed the header I slowy tightened it down at each cylinder then the tranny mount, installed the crossover and tightened it down, then installed the (stock) LH slip-on which all went fine but when I got to the RH slip-on the rear rubber mount was misaligned inboard - meaning it was too close to the axle nut and swingarm and needed to be forced into place.
To remedy that I loosened the crossover, tranny mount and each cylinder then used a pry bar to move it outboard and tightened down the tranny mount, then each cylinder and everything lined up correctly.
After I had done my video recording of the decatted header with stock pipes (comparative purpose) I pulled off the stock slip-ons and installed the LH SC slip-on first - when doing this I noticed the crossover pipe moved up/down considerably even though the sump bracket and clamp to the header were tight. When I got to the RH slip on it was again misaligned and obviously will need to be corrected.
Since I don't yet have my manual - can anyone enlighten me as to the correct sequence of installing and tightening things down?
Personally i install it from the head back, keeping everrything loose and then tighten everything up again starting @ the head. Never gave me a problem
