A big X2 here. Purchased a 7 year ESP for $1400. My limited is just over one year old and its going in for the 20K service. Part and labor prices blow me away when I read these posts. I'll be amazed if I do not get my money back on the warranty three fold in 84 months.

I originally thought I may have a starter problem until I started reading about others having problems on here and stating that the compensator fixed their problems. My starter always engages and turns the motor over when I first hit the starter switch. If the bike does not start right away is when the problem occurs. Per previous advice, I hold the switch down through the noise until it starts.

This could still be your starter clutch. I would take it to your Indy and let him observe what is going on. He may be able to conclude what the problem actually is.
