On the Road King Custom the saddlebgs dont lock bummer why??Do the other Road King models the ones with the hard bags have locks on them?If no to one or both of the questions are there options to lock them?thx
The classic bags don't lock either. There is an aftermarket lock set you can buy for about $150, but you need to remove the stock bag trim and replace it with a similar piece out of the kit.
I've used Locks from Lock your Leathers on my Road King Classic. I found them at a show had them installed and had it Keyed to the ignition key. So only one key to mess with. Overall they work great except when you try and over stuff your bag on long trips. A bit difficult to manuver but they do Lock. Also, The leather bags tend to bend in over time when empty. which causes them to lock with a bit of dificulty. The cure is to always keep something in the bags so they keep thier shape in the heat. They also have locks for the Leather tour pack as well.
I'm not affiliated with them at all. Just found this to be a great addition to Leather bags and Highly recommend them to anyone considering locking your bags. I've had mine for 3 years with no problems.
RoadKing Standards with the hard bags do lock just like the rest of the ElectraGlides. While a lot of people don't think the hard bag Raodkings look as good, they are more functional with the locking bags.
