I just ordered a new HD 22" replacement clear windshield for my 2008 FLHR Road King. The stock OEM 20" has served me well over the years, but it's starting to get nicks/cracks and harder to clean road grime off of. Being I'm 6'2" tall I'd thought I'd try a higher windshield. The extended extra 2" will still let me comfortably see over the shield, not through it. Granted, the stock 20" never beat me up to bad at highway speeds, just thought I'd try something different.
Anyone here have a HD 22" windshield? I'd like to hear your positive/negative experiences. Thx!
Obviously not much interest in this 2" extended windshield. Not exciting I know. It arrived from stealer and I finally had time to fit it to my existing windshield frame. It fit like a champ all holes lining up and no snafu's. First thing I noticed was less wind and buffering to my helmet. Less noise also. And I am looking through it, not over it like I thought I would. Time will tell if this was good investment ($159) or not. Looking through the windshield may take a little time getting used to since the last 7 riding seasons with this bike I was viewing things differently. Sturgis trip in a month. That will be the real test.

Lots of interest by me, just no experience.
Had the stock 20" shield, the top edge was right in line with my vision. I found that distracting, but otherwise I was very pleased with it. Visually superb and the air flow was great.
I chopped it down two inches, to get the top edge out of my line of vision. Instantly regretted it. Much more head buffeting and noise. Hugely so.
I plan on getting the 22" myself. I'm fine with looking through a windshield. I have for many years. I'm glad to hear from you that you've no problems with buffeting. I was concerned that it might cause more, or other problems in the slightly larger vacuum pocket behind it.
