Well spent the winter getting the bike ready for summer and vacation, we were going thru Canada to Nova Scotia and back thru Main, put a new clutch and drive belt and compensator in then yesterday went and had an angiogram done and guess what? Tuesday I go in for a quad bypass, not exactly how I wanted to get the summer off
Glad you were able to notice it early. You'll be back up in no time ready to ride. Just think of it like it's oil build up getting caught in the little holes. They are gonna add some DK custom air lines with oil catch filter. Man you will be out farting in the the atmosphere in no time.
Good luck brother. Hope ya have a quick recovery man.
I was split open for heart valve replacement in Nov.2013, I wish you all the luck in the world and just worry about getting better, you will feel better.
Had Quintuple bypass in '06. I know what you are about to go through. Forget about riding until the spring. The issue is about the healing and the recovery. You don't realize how much you use your chest muscles in everyday use. I remembered when I tried to drive my truck about 6 weeks later. Wow, the pain and feeling of your chest moving in two different movements at the same time really throws you. A week later I tried to cut my grass. The riding the tractor part was a bit painful, but I was able to handle it, but when I tried to pull the start cord on the trimmer I saw stars!!!! The second pull after I recovered from the shock wasn't too bad and she started on the third pull (lucky me, because I wasn't going to try anymore after the third one!!!). I don't know if they can do the surgery without splitting you open, but if you have that option please go that route. Go and take the rehab classes after and build up your strength and WALK. Sitting around will kill you, you need to get up and WALK. Once you get your chest muscles back up to full strength and your sternum heals, then try to ride, but please wait until spring. Trust me, you won't regret it. Good Luck and Godspeed. Glad you caught it before it killed you! Regards, Ben
that sucks but your bike will still be waiting for you next year . good luck with recovery , figure out what caused the problem and don't do it no more !
