Looking for something easy on and easy off to wear over shorts while riding. Preferably something with zippers on the bottom of the pant legs so I don't have to remove my shoes to put them on and off. Usually ride in jeans, but sometimes when you get to your destination, and it's hot out, I want to be in shorts..
Any suggestions that won't cost me a small fortune?
tough call. I am looking as well for something on the legs. Melted my textile riding pant onto the hot pipes the other day (fool thing to do but real easy with a moment of inattention), so wrecked pants and messed up the pipe. Check out the biker clothes webs maybe there are leather pants with vents or textile pants vented but with leather lower legs.
Not sure I want to go to chaps (technically you might be able to get away with shorts and chaps but haven't seen chaps that can vent??) and not sure about these http://www.leatherlegs.net/ or if I could get a set of more subdued style leather gaiters.
I picked up a pair of these Icon over-pants for wearing over shorts / jeans for my 0dark:30 commute.
the zippers open for additional venting... They're cheap at $71 seem to be well made, and should last. Icon Brawnson Overpants
Leatherup has some nice, reasonably priced full leather pants, with side zippers. these are the ones my lady has. (Yes, I know they are men's pants....they fit me as well!) http://www.leatherup.com/p/Mens-Moto...aps/50819.html
Agree. And pads for knees and hips are important. Tour master makes some good and reasonably priced gear for the touring rider. So does Olympia, Aerostich (overpriced) , Cortech, etc.
A lot of HD riders still have too much "cool" to wear any protective gear. Count yourself as one of the informed.
