Default Apes or Seat

So I have a dilemma with my '14 Ultra. I've put a couple thousand miles on and when I go on long rides I get some pain in my back between the shoulders. I'm not sure if I should go 12 in apes or mustang super touring seat. Which would make the biggest impact on comfort couple inches back and down plus wider on the seat or 12 in apes. Cost wise the mustang is way more at like 800+ bucks, labor wise the bars are way more time. I guess i'm just trying to get the best bang for my buck and time to increase the comfort most. Suggestions, which would you do first?

If your happy with the comfort of the seat, get the bars and keep the seat. Pain between your shoulders is the direct result of reaching forward for the bars. But going taller won't necessarily ease that pain. They need to have enough pull back for you to reach them.

Now, if you're not happy with the comfort of the seat, then yes, get the seat first, then find the bars you can easily reach from it.

Try a back rest first, they can make it so you don't need bars, but I did bars , and backrest.

Same bike... I put 10" Wild Ones on before I even picked up the bike. I just ordered a Corbin seat and they are making it to my specs. I wanted 2 down and two back. I'll know how it is next week hopefully

Good points on the Seat first argument. I guess it makes more sense to match the bars to the seat rather than the other way around. What the butt likes....the butt likes LOL.
