clutch cable
I have no doubt someone will come on here and tell you they change clutch cables all the time and never remove the exhaust, but the truth is unless you can get the exhaust out about 6 inches, it needs to come off. Monkeying around and twisting and turning and pulling on stuff to avoid removing the exhaust will most likely end up with a leak at the cable, cover, exhaust or all of them together.
Loosen the flanges and the exhaust bracket under the trap door....take the heat shields off and it should give you enough room to get to it...just did mine a few months ago that way....same year...flhtc.
Just did clutch cable last week on 13' Road Glide with stock exhaust. Remove the 2 heat shields at rear cylinder and along tranny trap door. Use good quality long ball allen head wrench to get at the 2 lower bolts on the trap door. Remove the other 4 bolts on trap door, remove door and gasket, remove cable and route new cable in same manner. Reassemble using new gasket on trap door, tighten bolts in proper sequence per manual. You will not be able to apply torque wrench to 2 lower bolts but not a big deal at all. Just tighten them down good with the long ball. Adjust clutch, job done... PM me if you need any help with this...

I was able do it with a shortened Allen wrench by only removing the shield, did not have to loosen exhaust at all. No need to use a torque wrench. If your concerned about that set up a bolt in a vice and use your torque wrench there to get a feel for how much resistance is needed, practice the correct amount of force by hand.
More than likely the gasket will be reusable too.
